Nellions 10th Anniversary
Overview
project overview
Marking ten years in business, Nellions sought to celebrate a major milestone. While earlier celebrations were small in-house events, Kooni recommended that this occasion should be marked not just as an internal achievement, but as a strategic brand moment.
The objective was clear: create an experience that honoured the journey, strengthened relationships, and reinforced Nellions’ position as the leading relocation partner in East Africa.
Kooni Connect was tasked with conceptualizing and coordinating execution of the Nellions @ 10 event from end to end.
The challenge
This was more than an event. It was a brand statement.
The risk was fragmentation — a memorable event that didn’t translate into lasting brand value.
Nellions thus needed:
- A cohesive concept that reflected its growth and professionalism
- Seamless coordination across multiple vendors and stakeholders
- A curated guest experience for key clients, partners, and stakeholders
- Strong alignment between the event experience and broader brand messaging
the strategy
Kooni approached Nellions@10 as a brand experience, not just an event.
Every element — from guest journey to visuals to communication — was designed to reinforce credibility, trust, and legacy.
The focus was on delivering a polished, intentional, and memorable experience for a carefully selected audience.
Every touchpoint was intended to communicate this excellence and positioning: from the choice of chief guest, Ambassador Ann Wanjohi, to messages from key international relocation partners in South Africa, UK, Nigeria, Italy and even the chairperson of the International Association of Movers (IAM), guests got the impression that they were dealing with a truly international player who is based in Kenya.
Even the entertainment reinforced this message:
Kooni’s Role & Key Contributions
Kooni led the full lifecycle of the event:
Conceptualisation & Experience Design
- Developed the event concept aligned with Nellions’ brand and 10-year milestone
- Structured the flow and experience to balance celebration, storytelling, and networking
Vendor & Supplier Coordination
- Identified and onboarded key partners, including event planners, photographers, and décor teams
- Managed coordination to ensure consistency in quality and delivery
Stakeholder & PR Alignment
- Worked closely with the PR team to align messaging before, during, and after the event
- Ensured the event supported broader brand positioning and visibility goals
Guest List Management
- Curated and managed a guest list of 160 high-value guests, including clients, partners, and stakeholders
- Coordinated invitations, confirmations, and attendance tracking
Post-Event Communication
- Managed follow-up communication to sustain engagement beyond the event
- Ensured the experience translated into continued brand interaction
The results
While the event was intimate by design, its impact was strategic:
- Strengthened relationships with key clients and partners through a high-quality, personalised experience
- Reinforced Nellions’ brand as a professional, connected, and trusted market leader
- Generated valuable brand content (visuals, testimonials, moments) for ongoing marketing use
- Increased post-event engagement and conversations with attendees
The curated nature of the guest list likely improved the quality of follow-up opportunities, as attendees were pre-qualified stakeholders with existing or potential business relationships.
Strategic Significance
Nellions @ 10 demonstrated how well-executed events can go beyond celebration to become relationship and brand-building assets.
The event positioned Nellions not just as a service provider, but as a company with:
- A proven track record
- Strong industry relationships
- A clear sense of identity and direction
For Nellions, the anniversary was not just about marking time.
It was about reinforcing trust — and setting the tone for the next decade.
